The e&t Energie Handelsgesellschaft m.b.H is the trading company which is a merger of leading Austrian energy companies joined in the “Energie-Allianz”. Decision Trees established in a comprehensive project study, that the dispatch planning of a thermal power plant based on stochastic optimization generates significantly more profit than deterministic models.

After that, a customized stochastic optimization system for a thermal power plant has been launched at e&t. On the one hand, this system supports the decision making of the optimal daily coal consumption as well as the long-term decisions for nomination and procurement of coal from a supply contract.

Moreover, Decision Trees developed a comprehensive software for analysis of historical price developments as well as for generation of future market price scenarios of electricity, gas and CO2.
